So far this year I found the Sunshine blog assignment to be the most relatable to what I would have though and "artsy picture" to be. It involved techniques that many people can and have tried when taking pictures of objects and there are many ways to do it. The way a camera focuses when the sun is shining towards the photographer will determine which parts of the photo will be seen and/or enphasized. I personally like using trees for the sun rays to shine through because of the unique angles that the branches create for the light. For my self portrait, my hockey had a gathering at a farm and I had assistance with taking the actal photo. There are a few things that I think would have improved my result which include: not having flash on, using sunlight instead of artifical lightning, and moving the camera futher. There are two of the same photos to show the light behind me more but the lighter one is more clear. Finally, I took a photo of my mom at HCC in the morning as a side profile because if she was facing straight on her facial features would not have been clear and the final result may have looken more like a snapshot.
